As you may know, on March 26, 2019, Representative Tim Walberg (R-MI) introduced H.Res. 255. This bill promotes increased public awareness in motorcycle profiling. H.Res. 255 has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary.
Like you, I value the rights, safety, and well-being of all motor vehicle drivers. That being said, the state has a compelling interest in keeping its citizens safe, and should impartially enforce the law as written. Though I do not sit on the Judiciary Committee, I will continue to debate and discuss these disparities in law enforcement. I will keep your thoughts in mind should any related legislation come before the U.S. House of Representatives.
