Inspired again...cont

  • So the first of the big Jappa's has hit the aussie shores...like I was saying...no one could beileve the power that was being put out from standard. four into four pipes...then just as fast 4 into 2 then 4 into 1's started apearing...wild paint...sign of the times I guess..It wasn't long before the other well known brands were adding to the market...Kawasaki Yamaha and Susuki...poor ol HD took a battering at the hands of AMF. Even the Brits took a pounding as the cheap more reliable Japanese creations took over sales. Companies that had been around for eons suddenly found failing markets and slid into bankruptcy.

    A rebirth came...people were getting out again. Money was being tossed around and technology jumped with it. People who had a business nouce jumped in with both feet and made the most of the cresting wave called cheap Japanese imports.  The ol guard was left sitting on its heels resting on non existant lorrels...this trend lasted for another 10 years...Sure the dire hards were still tooling around...but everyone and his dog were into speed. Speed and reliability were the order of the day. fin.

  • LCStrat I entered biking in the hay day of Japanese bikes, late 70's - 80's. The Kawasaki ZX14 now is over 2 tenths of a second faster in the quarter than the Hayabusa. 1/4 mile times on these bikes, stock, is in the 9's. For now, the Japanese aren't doing as...  more
