Sometimes, women are ignored in biker culture. Sure, men like to throw their favorite lady on the back of their bike, but some women want to take to the open road on their own bikes. For that very reason, women have had to form their own biker clubs in self-defense, and the Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks is one such club.
Based in Springfield, Missouri, Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks is a club for women who love bikes. It is affiliated with the larger organization Women on Wheels (https://www.womenonwheels.org/), which was founded in 1982. Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks is a weekend club that meets once a month.
On the third Saturday of every month, they meet outside the Springfield, Missouri, library at 10 a.m. for a local ride. They often finish up with a meal at a local eatery. Other events are focused on just the lunch gathering, like an event this month, Ride to Lunch (recently, they tried a Vietnamese place). They also get together for bike shows and rallies, all in the name of a good time.
Of course, it is always fun to ride, whether if it is by yourself or with friends. However, maybe you have been wearing that lone wolf patch just a bit too long. Has it eaten through your jacket? That's too long. It's time to find some friends at local bike club. If you're in the Springfield, Missouri area, and like kicking back with some great new friends, Lady Cruisers of the Ozarks maybe the perfect club for you. What have you got to lose? That's right, nothing, except maybe that lone wolf patch.
