I'd turn around for sure!
We had a band of tornados come through here in 1985, tore up everything.
This was the only thing that ever really scared me.
Take Cover.....OMG Mike that is a great picture. Damn I love your Texas pictures!
Night Dragon
Thanks Ken, That was right out my back yard about 3 miles away, and happily moving away from me. We caught the edge of it as it passed.
I sure remember growing up in Texas and spending a lot of time in a storm shelter. Keep those great pictures coming.

Hope to never ride thru any stuff like that! The closet I got to that was a nasty thunderstorm riding over a pass getting back home from work one day, talk about hair-raising ride

That deserves an atta boy!!!! Love your Photographic eye!
Thank You DJ!!!
Well, if you are on the interstate halfway between Mitchel, SD and Sturgis like I was back in the mid-90's there's not much you can do. Pull off as far as you can into an alfalfa field, corn field, whatever field, get down as low as you possibly can (digging worked for me), pull your ride on top of you, pray and hold on. Just a side note: carry a 10 x 10 tarp with you easy to get to quickly. Hail is a freakin' bitch when there' s not cover.
Peace
When I first rode through that area of SD I wondered what I would do if a big'un ever showed up. Happily, I can report that I never had to make that decision.

Pray! Got caught just outside Childress Texas. No where to go when the cop stopped traffic on the highway. An angel in the form of an 18 wheeler lined up the back axles with our bikes. My chaps grew 3" and I had bruises from the hail. But luckily none of us blew away!
We ran for cover one CRAZY ASS Day
Get tf out of there (but not before taking a picture for social media)
Stop on the side of the road if it was safe to and see which way it was going. If it's not coming your way, wait it out. If it's coming your way, get to shelter. You're not going to safely outrun it, and flying debris may be what gets you before too long.
