Yep, remember that from my racing days. Every piece of hardware HAD to be wired. Definitely not going to back out if you wire them!!!

It's almost a forgotten way of life. Nylon lock threads and knurling have replaced much of it these days I suppose

and lock-tight can do the same thing with hundreds of hours saved.

loctite combined with age and currosion CAN create a problem down the road too.

I have had many loctited pieces of hardware come loose after time. That's why on the critical stuff I remove, clean and re-loctite once a season.

I use a teflon thread sealer we get at work its fantastic at holding ...all you have to do to get it out again is a quick tap of a center punch

I've been using a product called "Vibra-tite". I get it from work, havent seen it on the shelves. I'm curious about this wiring procedure but I cant get the page to load.

Nothin' like safety wire to keep a part right where you put it. That said, the stuff sure can POKE you!

I did a lot of safety wiring on F-4's back in the day........for the younger group an F-4 was a top of the line Jet Fighter back in the Viet Nam days.
