This past July, Gene Francis was diagnosed with stage 3 Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Lungs. Gene quickly started chemo-therapy treatments and simultaneous daily radiation treatments.

Gene has continued visits with his doctors and will continue to struggle with side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Due to the treatment and the draining side effects, Gene has not been able to work and will also have long term expenses that he will need to plan for.

A benefit has been planned in Gene’s honor on February 7, 2015 at the Brainerd American Legion Post 255. Any donation is greatly appreciated that can be used as raffle prize, silent auction item or monetary in nature. All proceeds will go directly to Gene.
