Event Desc

  • On the 3rd Saturday in September every year thousands of riders gather in Bridgeport, AL to ride the annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride. The ride is the largest organized motorcycle ride in the world having gathered as many as 150K riders to enjoy the event. The ride traverses northern Alabama from Bridgeport to Waterloo. The end of the ride includes a Pow Wow and festival at the Park grounds in Waterloo.

On the Monday before the ride a group of riders from Texas leaves San Antonio to make the trip to North Carolina's Smoky Mountains where the unofficial ride begins, in Cherokee, NC, on the Friday before the official ride. The ride runs from San Antonio to Cherokee, NC where we meet with the organizers of the annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride for the trip down to Bridgeport, AL where we join the Official Annual Trail of Tears Commemorative Motorcycle Ride which is run on the 3rd Saturday of every September. From there the ride continues (this year), to Indian Territory in Oklahoma. This is where the organized ride ends and the San Antonio riders make their way back home. Complete information, including all route and hotel information can be found on the ride website.
