On January 10, 2018, I lost my riding partner, my best friend, and the love of my life. My wife of 36 years was called home to be with the Lord. Life as I know it will never be the same. But life for her has just gotten much better. You see, in 2013 she had her first stroke and her left side was partially paralyzed. But what made her determined to recover was to get on the back of my motorcycle again. She worked hard and in time she sure did. Another stroke later took that away. On the 10th she had her 7th and final stroke and 4 1/2 hours later she was gone. Her biker buddies, her windsusters, never abandoned her and were with me as I told the doctor to remove her breathing tube. 20 minutes later, she died peacefully. I will love that lady till the day I die. But I have to say thanks to the joy of riding, I got to keep her for 5 more years. And thanks to our biker girls who stayed by her side till her last breath, we didn’t have to go through this alone. Love your partners guys and gals. You never know when there are no tomorrows.
