Last year Arizona legalized motorcycle lane filtering under certain specified conditions.
Motorcycle lane filtering, the practice of motorcycles maneuvering between stationary or slow-moving vehicles, is permitted on roadways with two or more lanes traveling in the same direction. The law in place stipulates that lane filtering is only permissible when the posted speed limit is 45 mph or less, which rules out most if not all of SR 347 and SR 238 especially outside city limits. Moreover, motorcyclists must ensure that they do not exceed a speed of 15 mph while executing the lane filtering maneuver between stopped or slow-moving vehicles.

As with all aspects of riding a motorcycle, lane filtering should ONLY be done in a safe and controlled manner when the conditions and surrounding traffic permits it.
