With the newer HD Security Systems using proximity FOBs where the key FOB needs to be close to the bike to start, it is very impoprtant to set your Alarm Override PIN code and know how to use the manual alarm override. If the battery in your FOB dies or you lose your FOB and you have not set your Harley Alarm Override PIN Code, you will not be starting your bike

SOME VALUABLE TIPS FOR YOUR H-D SECURITY SYSTEM
Change your FOB battery twice a year so you never get stuck with a dead one. I do mine every time I change the clocks forward or back for daylight savings time
Put a contact in you phone for your bike and add the PIN as the phone number. Then in contact notes PUT the basic INSTRUCTIONS to enter the override.
If your bike appears to be locked out, check your surroundings. If your bike is parked near anything that emites RFs it may interfere with the communication between the FOB and the bike. This could include wireless security cameras, newer cars, power lines, etc. Try moving your bike away from these possible sources of interference. If that doesn't work, use the override.
