Reading Nightdragons post about ageism kinda got me thinking, i would like to help, but obviously 5,000 miles of ocean makes it rather difficult. Why dont people post up what they work at, maybe someone knows someone who knows someone can help a brother/sister out. It works on an Irish bike forum i am joined, O.K Ireland is a small country with a small population, but the world isn't too big anyway. I'll start, I am a boilermaker by trade, currently working with a Swedish company in the Petro/chem industry.
P.S...hope this is OK Lucky ?

Served in the Marine Corps for 16 years. Got hurt and med discharged.
Went to work operating a directional bore machine for ten years and finally had to stop working due to my hips needing replaced; Had both hips replaced, one in 2001 and the other in 2006. The VA sent me to school and I studied for two and a half years to Major as a Special Education teacher but had to end that as I had to take custody of my two grandsons to raise. I could and would love to substitute teach on the side but the boys require all my attention. Now I raise the two boys and sit here during the days they are in school and BS with you folks untill the weather warms up when I can ride during the time they are in school.

I handle the risk management and continuity planning for large company here in KC. I spend the majority of my day thinking about all the back things that could put us out of business then I come up with a solution that mitigates that risk so that operations can continue no matter what...I'm tied in with State and Federal agencies like SEMA, FEMA, and DHS. I also work with local public sector (Fire, Police, and EMS) to ensure there's a bridge between them and company so that when the really bad thing happen I've already got establish relations with them and they understand my needs as well as what we can bring to the table to assist them during a metro wide event....
Doesn't that sound like fun???? I do my best work during a crisis going 100 mps with my hair on fire… Bring on the stress it’s my fuel!!!
