Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter 1 Announces that the 6th Annual "Thunder At The River" Salute to Veterans weekend is set for June 19-21, 2015. This event is to honor our United States Military, and to raise awareness and financial support for countless Military Veterans, POW/MIA'S and programs to benefit Michigan Vets.

The “Pure Thunder” Escorted Veterans Memorial Ride will be in honor of all our fallen brothers and sisters. The ride will depart at 12 Noon Saturday June 20th and is open to all. Registration 9:00am - 11:30am ( EARLY BIRD BONUS- Paid registrations received by May 31st will receive a FREE limited edition, commemorative t-shirt) Blessing of the Bikes prior to departure, and the United States Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City, will begin the ride with a MH-65C "Dolphin" helicopter fly over.(Unless Duty Calls)

The event features The Michigan Vietnam Memorial Wall presented by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 154 from Roseville, Michigan. We are asking for your help to escort the wall into the Casino on Friday June 19, 2015. Stage at the VFW Post 1211 28th St. Manistee MI 2:00pm Escort will depart at 3:00pm. Afterwards will will have a Memorial Ride in honor of the fallen Veterans from the USS Liberty.

Other activities for the weekend include a Free Bike show on Saturday 3-5pm, high quality vendors, informational displays, DJ,and live entertainment, beer, great food, Pig Roast on Saturday, random prize drawings, 50/50 and Silent Auction.

Sunday is Family Day. A non-denominational Worship Service 10am, Poker Run- registration 11-12 Noon. Meet our County Fire & EMS, local K-9 Unit. Kids activities- Crafts & Games, Face Painting, Smokey the Bear will be here and Mr. Balloon, 50/50 - Random Prize Drawings and more food, beer & fun!

Donations are still being sought to help cover expenses for this event, including sponsors for the “Pure Thunder” Escorted Veterans Memorial Ride and Bike show. Donations/items for the silent auction are also needed. Funds from this event benefit Michigan Veterans!
