I don't ride hard or fast(most of the time anyways) But 5,000 miles and its worn out. They said 2/32 tread depth left.Am I getting reamed or is this normal to be needing new rubber every 5,000?  less

Any thoughts????

You couldn't see them from the road, but the smell of honeysuckles was really strong. Only someone on a bike would know that. Got me wondering what else people on bikes know (or experience) that cagers wouldn't ... Why dogs stick their head out the window (old joke) The bottom of the hill is 30 degrees colder than the top of the hill What a mayfly tastes like Wet grooved pavement and steel bridge grating can be some scary s&%*t the excitement of an SUV full of kids, faces pressed against the window to get a view of your ride the "wish it was me" look from the guy in the minivan passenger seat, wife at the wheel yapping away "The Wave" There's a lot of different kinds of "The Wave" - the point, the peace sign , etc What it feels like to hit the perfect lean in a corner you've never been around What else ?  less

So now I gotta drill the pan threads out and do the heli-coil thing.  I'll let ya know what else I screw up in a couple of days. Peace  less

My friend, motor cop, fellow biker died this morning on duty in Augusta Georgia (Richmond County Sheriffs Office). His name was JD Paugh. I met JD about 15 years ago when we were both new officers he was the kind of guy that everyone liked, funny, great sense of humor (you have to to be a motor cop we were brutal with pratical jokes). JD would always laugh off every time we would pull the plug wires off his bike, hide his saddle bags and so on just a great guy. JD was on his way home from traffic detail this morning and noticed a vehicle had run off the roadway into a grass median. He pulled off the roadway onto the shoulder to help what he thought was a stranded motorist. Before JD could put his kickstand down the driver of the vehicle shot JD in the chest with a M4 rifle. JD got two rounds off then the suspect fired 35 rounds killing JD at the scene then shot and killed himself. The suspect was a 26 year...    less

I pay him $200 a week plus free room board.   Then there's the mentally challenged worker. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also sleeps with my wife occasionally.   Department of Labor employee: That's the guy I want to talk to...the mentally challenged one.   Farmer: That would be me.  less

My "07 Streetglide has 50,000+ miles and I am on 4th set of Dunlops. Am averaging 12-15,000 miles and replace both at the same time. In my opinion, correct tire pressure is the key.

My 07 Streetglide has the same problem, usually after riding for a while and the engine is hot. Idle drops very low, need to keep giving it throttle to keep it running when stopping or downshifting. Very irritating & unsafe. Seems to correct itself after shutoff period or if I keep riding at steady speed. My dealer has no solution.

The sigh of relief that you feel when you come out OK after making a stupid mistake (too fast into the corner or losing concentration), because you're not paying attention to the bike, conditions, or surroundings.

Guess I belong to the same club. "In a hurry, screw it up by not paying attention, then spending the rest of the afternoon trying to fix it." Then to top it off, I usually have a bloody knuckle or blister for my effort.
