About Our Business
Letterfly, the Pinstriping guy, is best known for the delicate Old School designs, spectacular murals of patriotic scenes, wildlife, pet portraits, hand lettering, and monograms that adorn touring bikes, choppers and motorcycles of all kinds.
His appetite for the unusual and challenging, lead to many varied and sensational projects. A skilled painter, starting professionally in 1972, Letterfly has designed large wall graphics and theater sets, themed interior and exterior murals in amusements parks, homes and restaurants, crafted delicate Gold Leaf window treatments, lettering and sign work design, and the gilding and ornamentation for antique Fire Engines and firefighting apparatus.
Letterfly enjoys a route of customer dedicated Harley-Davidson stores seven months a year, where he becomes the “artist in residence” for a week and attends major motorcycle events and classic automobile rallies nationwide.
Also known as Dave Knoderer, Letterfly is the author of an e-newsletter, “Tales of a Traveling Airbrush”, which can be viewed at letterfly.com., along with magazine articles about every aspect of custom hand painting. The artist is also a public speaker, who gives an informative and enlightening seminar entitled, “Rolling Art…Why a Mural?” to interested HOG Clubs, Art Guilds, groups of aspiring artists and custom paint/pinstripe aficionados all along the way.
