GNOTRC is a... moreJoin us on April 21, 2024, for the Harley for LE MC of LA Horses Benefit Motorcycle Run to benefit the Greater New Orleans Therapeutic Riding Center, sponsored for the 2nd consecutive year by Knight’s Order LE ME of LA. GNOTRC is a nonprofit
organization dedicated to the well-being of children and adults with disabilities through horse assisted activities. The organization was founded in 1993 with four students and two horses. Today, the riding center helps riders with disabilities with nine horses.
The motorcycle run, open to riders of all makes of motorcycles, began when GNOTRC was given a pet pig named Harley, which has become the mascot for this event.
This year’s motorcycle run is set to depart at 11:00 A.M. on April 21, 2024, from the LaPlace Travel Center at 4325 Hwy. 51 in LaPlace. Registration will start at 9:00 A.M. The route will take the run for lunch at Manny’s Bar, 19706 Highway 22 in Maurepas, and end at
Frenier Landing, 113 Dottie Lane in Laplace with music and a raffle following the run.
THREE RAFFLE TICKETS WILL BE DRAWN FOR HOME DEPOT GIFT CARDS. The 1st ticket drawn will win a $500 gift card. The 2nd ticket wins a $300 gift card, and the 3rd ticket wins a $150 gift card. Registration for the event is $30 per motorcycle and $25 for passenger. Non-riders may purchase a raffle ticket(s) for $30 each, 2 for $55, or 3 for $80. Payment available through Venmo, Cash App, Zelle or by using the QR code on the registration form. The fee also includes lunch at the midpoint, and admission to the music following the run. Music will start at 3:00 P.M. Non-riders are invited to join the festivities at Frenier Landing.
Once again this year’s Harley for Horses Benefit Motorcycle Run will be dedicated to fallen St. John Deputy Brandon Nielsen, who organized and also escorted the ride over the last several years. less
