What is one thing you will not ride without? I am not talking about cash or your drivers license.  But the one thing you need to take with you when you saddle up. Is it the rabbits foot you won at the 4th grade carnival, a lucky penny or your travel bear that is strapped to the bars of your bike...? I will do a list from those submitted by the guppies and one for the sharks.  I am interested to see what you all come up with for me.  less

  ROSENDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old man in upstate New York has been charged with driving his motorcycle at nearly 200 mph on a highway in the rain. State police say a trooper clocked Anthony Anderson of Poughkeepsie driving...  more ROSENDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old man in upstate New York has been charged with driving his motorcycle at nearly 200 mph on a highway in the rain. State police say a trooper clocked Anthony Anderson of Poughkeepsie driving at 193 mph around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Albany — the same stretch of road where another motorcyclist was spotted doing 166 mph earlier this month. The trooper was able to get a description of the high-performance bike and alerted nearby patrols. Troopers eventually stopped Anderson in the town of Rosendale. He told them he was headed to a hospital to visit a patient. Anderson was issued 14 traffic tickets, including one for speeding. It couldn't be immediately determined if he had a lawyer.  less

  riding position

  Just a quick question for yall when yall ride in a group how do yall ride. Staggered or side by side. Staggered or side by side. I know some states have laws that cover this but being a prior motorcycle cop when i ride i like to ride directly beside another rider in the same lane. If i can tell this bothers the other rider i will move. I bumped into one of my riding buddys on a straight and did not give it a second thought it seemed to bother him. Just wanted to hear yalls thoughts

  I know there have been some related posts about this but I am throwing it out here again in hopes of getting some more input on peoples experience in diffferent areas.  I have been hearing hubba about new laws or old ones being enforced that maybe...  moreI know there have been some related posts about this but I am throwing it out here again in hopes of getting some more input on peoples experience in diffferent areas.  I have been hearing hubba about new laws or old ones being enforced that maybe previously were not regarding side mount vertical license plate holders. Personally I have always ran one and ridden all over the country without much concern for the local law on it and my experience is in the states they are restricted it did not seem to be enforced. The one exception to this I hear about is if it is percieved that you are causing some trouble and they (LEO's) are looking for a reason to give you a hard time or to question you they will use this for cause to talk to you. I am curious what the different state laws are currently and how actively they are being enforced? I would love to hear from some of you as to what your state law is and how actively they are enforcing it. I am also curious what states require a...    less
