This past weekend I did a little observing on the subject. A group of us were riding, all on Harleys but one Spyder and me on my custom. I saw several hundred scooters and this was what I observed. Every Harley and Goldwing rider I saw waved back. Most metric cruiser and sport bike riders waved. Very few BMW riders waved and damn near no dual sport riders waved. Hell, the BMW folks weren't even friendly at the beer joints. I don't know what any of this means but it was an observation.  less

    question about service
Sorry in advance if this gets lengthy, but need the advice of someone with a little more motorcycle service / warranty expirience than me. I purchased a 2004 Roadking in 2011, the bike was listed as "pristine condition" and by my expirience it is, nothing mechanically wrong or such. I rode the bike for about 10 months while performing regular oil changes myself. Earlier this year at the start of riding season I took the bike in for new tires. When the technician replaced the tires he began to explain how imperative it was I get the 50k service done as there are "springs and a body" that needd to be checked and / or upgraded (to the tune of $1,500). He went on to explain that my Primary Case was leaking and to repair this along with the  50k service would run right around $1,100 for labor plus whatever additional gaskets, spark plugs or seals I would need. I brought this to the attention of one of the sales people at the dealership who (thank God)...    less

I had to drive my wife's car the other day, and just not used to it, I found myself speeding, unfortunately so did a very cocky young member of our local law enforcemnet community.

As the young Officer walked up to my car he asked me for my lisence. I told him I did not have one. He seemed upset, rolling his eye's and asked why I didn't have one so, I told him I lost it for drinking and driving. Then he asked for my registration. I told him I didn't have the registration, because the car was stolen. The young man made me get out of the car, handcuffed me and had me sit in the street while he called for the Chief of Police. Once the Chief arrived he reached in my pocket and got my wallet pulled out my driver's lisence, looked at it, then went to the car and got the registration out of the glove box and found the registraion in my name..The Chief turned and looked at me and said "My Officer said you lost your lisence for drinking and driving, stole this car and had no registration and had a gun you used to shoot the owner and put the body in the trunk!!" what do you have to say?? and that's when I said If he lied about all that, next he'll probably say I was speeding!!!

okay, not a fit, neither are the later model touring seats, I am finding they changed up the mounting from a "tab a" to a "slot b" around 2007....I may try the upholestry thing, if I can find the right padding. craigslist also has a few options.
