About Our Business
Just a ten-minute drive from downtown Boston, the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Massachusetts, is a must-visit destination for car enthusiasts, families, and visitors exploring the Boston area. Located in the scenic 64-acre Larz Anderson Park, this classic car museum showcases “America’s Oldest Car Collection” inside the historic Carriage House. Visitors can enjoy rotating museum exhibits, automotive history lectures, family-friendly programs, classic car shows, and the museum’s signature Lawn Events. A visit offers a memorable day of exploration, history, and enjoyment at one of New England’s most beloved automotive museums.
The Andersons’ collection began with an 1899 Winton 4-hp Runabout and grew to include 32 motorcars and horse-drawn carriages, forming one of the most significant historic car collections in New England. After Isabel Anderson’s death in 1948, the collection was entrusted to the VMCCA, leading to the creation of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. Today, the museum features automotive exhibits, educational forums, car history programs, and themed Lawn Events that celebrate the legacy of early motoring, classic cars, and automotive history in Massachusetts.
