  • Message Taking Action Against Homelessness
There are many paths that lead to homelessness and each person has a different story.

When you take your time to learn about your homeless neighbor, his or her story and family, you show them that you care!

Homelessness brings a sense of loneliness that erodes the core of a person’s self-value. When you are homeless, a simple smile and a word of kindness can make a big difference in a day full of hardship.

As families from all walks of life confront growing economic uncertainty, the financial struggles of low-income working families have gone from bad to worse. The majority of low-income working families are in a constant struggle to meet basic needs.

Actions need to be taken on a number of fronts such as education, skills development, and workforce development. Income and workplace support are also examples of very important areas. The Servant’s Heart, Corp. is taking action by offering Learn to Do-It-Yourself workshops.

    Learn to Do-It-Yourself

The workshops are geared toward empowering the individual in learning or honing skills to perform a wide range of do-it-yourself tasks. Our premise is this: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

There are five ways to empower the individual:

Help them create goals that are appropriate and attainable
    Accountability
Empower the family to work together through communication, appreciation, and commitment.
Teach a new skill that can change their life (e.g. cooking, welding, upcycling, re-purposing, etc.).
    Don’t give up./Reach out./Give back.
    Mission Statement

Our mission is to help empower homeless seniors, Veteran, families, the disabled, single parents and low-income to achieve long-term self-sufficiency through supportive services, and advocacy.

    Vision Statement

We aim to be a part of the solution to homelessness.
